snapCopy V1.64 Dev Log: Clearer and steadier cloud enhancement

snapCopy has been updated to V1.64.

This is not the kind of update where you open the app and immediately see many new buttons. It is more about cleaning up a few parts of the beta experience that could feel unclear.

The main focus this time is cloud enhancement.

If local generation is the fast first draft, cloud enhancement is the extra step for moments when you want captions that look more closely at the photo.

What feels better in this version

First, the waiting experience is clearer.

Before, after tapping cloud enhancement, you could tell the app was working, but not always what it was doing. V1.64 makes the flow more visible: preparing, understanding the photo, polishing captions, and arranging results.

That makes the wait feel less like a frozen button and more like a process.

Second, the messages are friendlier.

If cloud enhancement is busy, times out, or runs out of quota, the app now tries to explain what happened more clearly. In some cases, it helps you fall back to local generation, so one failed cloud request does not block the whole posting flow.

Third, test quota is easier to understand.

During TestFlight, snapCopy now shows the remaining cloud enhancement uses more clearly. This is not the final paid plan design. It is a beta control for cost and stability testing, but it should help testers know what is available today.

Fourth, caption results should be cleaner.

This version also keeps reducing cases where cloud captions accidentally include strange formatting or JSON fragments. For users, the goal is simple: the result should be a caption you can copy and share, not a technical response.

Why this comes first

The most important snapCopy experience is not having a long feature list.

It should help you get unstuck after taking a photo.

If you just want to quickly post breakfast, coffee, a cat, a walk, or a travel moment, local generation should stay fast and smooth.

If you want something closer to the photo, cloud enhancement can take another look.

V1.64 is about making that switch clearer: useful when it works, and less disruptive when it is temporarily unavailable.

I will keep watching feedback around three things:

• whether cloud-enhanced captions really feel closer to the photo
• whether the waiting time feels acceptable
• whether quota, privacy notes, and error messages are clear enough

snapCopy is still in its first round of testing, so it will still have rough edges.

But the direction of this version is clear:

make cloud enhancement feel like a small helper you can understand and control, not a black-box button.
