PrivatePinyin Privacy Policy
Scope
This policy applies to PrivatePinyin by Station Cat, including its iOS container app, keyboard extension, product pages, and support pages.
Keyboard input
The keyboard extension processes composition text, candidates, correction, ranking, and optional learning on the device. It does not request Full Access, connect to the internet, upload typed content, or operate an input logging service.
Data collection and tracking
PrivatePinyin does not collect data from the app or keyboard, does not track users, and contains no advertising, third-party analytics, account system, or cloud input history.
Local learning and dictionaries
Optional learning records and imported dictionaries are stored in the app container or App Group on the device. You can disable learning and clear learning or imported dictionary data in the app. Local data remains until cleared or the app is removed.
Optional dictionary downloads
Only after you explicitly choose a reviewed dictionary download does the container app contact fixed official GitHub sources. These requests do not include typed text, learning records, imported dictionaries, account data, or a device identifier. The keyboard extension itself remains offline.
Third-party sources
Reviewed Rime dictionary files retain their upstream licenses and source notices. GitHub processes ordinary connection information under its own privacy policy when you request a download.
Deletion and contact
Because Station Cat does not keep a server-side PrivatePinyin account or input database, local deletion is completed through the in-app clear controls or by removing the app. Privacy questions can be sent to brodstem@protonmail.com with PrivatePinyin in the subject.
