This public test is provided as a PKG for Apple Silicon Macs. The installer is Developer ID signed, Apple notarized, stapled, and accepted by the macOS Gatekeeper installation check.

- After a desktop restart, unfinished AI tasks are ended immediately so the interface does not remain stuck in a running state.
- Interrupted tasks now show a clear regenerate prompt, while completed and cancelled tasks stay unchanged.
- Startup cleanup failures are logged without blocking launch, and the existing timeout cleanup remains as a fallback.
Local data
Installation, data, and updates
- Open the downloaded PKG to install the app at /Applications/NovelForge AI.app.
- Back up ~/Library/Application Support/NovelForge AI/ before upgrading. The database, settings, and local backups live under this user-data directory.
- There is no auto-update feed yet. Download and install new versions from this page; replacing the app does not intentionally remove existing local data.
- Local-first does not mean fully offline. AI, voice, or publishing tasks send necessary context to providers you explicitly configure.
