Music: local records and anonymous statistics

Saved songs, recent playback, positions and preferences stay in this browser. Clear them under “Manage local records” on the music page. They do not sync with your account. The server checks listening eligibility through a read-only connection to the existing membership system; each audio request still requires authorization.

To show play counts, popularity rankings and recommendations, this site enables anonymous first-party listening statistics by default when the feature is available. Events include a random statistics session, song and revision, preview or full version, playback milestones, timestamps and accumulated listening time. We do not send saved-song lists, complete browsing history, account or payment details, or use advertising trackers, device fingerprints or third-party analytics SDKs.

The random statistics session is stored in sessionStorage for this tab for up to 24 hours. Turn it off under “Listening statistics & privacy” to stop further collection, discard unsent events and remove the session while retaining that choice in this tab; you can turn it on again at any time. Collection stays off when Global Privacy Control is enabled. Clearing local data does not recall events already received. Raw events are retained for up to 30 days; daily totals without session identifiers for up to 365 days. Membership attribution is not collected, and an entry click is not counted as a purchase.

The hosting platform may keep necessary request logs; the server is not free of access records. Statistics abuse counters store only short-lived, minute-scoped IP HMACs, not raw IP addresses. Existing account, membership and financial records remain governed by the original system. Clearing local records or turning off anonymous statistics does not delete those records.
